Bio: McKensey has spent her entire legal career at Terpening Law, during which time she has grown from the Firm’s legal assistant into her role as the firm’s lead paralegal and office manager. McKensey is the first point of contact that many clients have with the firm, and works diligently to promote our clients’ interests every day, both in court and in the office.

Associate Attorney
Connor D. Reid
Bio: Connor Reid is an Associate from Cornelius, North Carolina. He focuses primarily on complex-fraud related litigation, both civil and criminal.
Connor has experience working on matters involving: Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”) fraud; mail, wire, and healthcare fraud; criminal and civil false claims; parallel proceedings; Ponzi schemes; FINRA arbitration; cryptocurrency; fraudulent transfers; and professional malpractice.

Legal Assistant
Mary Kate Schmidlin
Bio: Kate is originally from Lenoir, North Carolina, and now serves as the firm’s legal assistant. She is responsible for providing effective communication, administrative support for the staff, and creating strong client relationships. While in school, Kate interned with the New Hanover County CSI Division. She was able to observe evidence collection and gain exposure to legal standards. Kate hopes to advance into a paralegal role within the firm one day. Away from the office, Kate enjoys playing pickleball and spending time with her family.

Associate
Mia E. Katterman
Bio:
Mia Katterman is a Law Clerk from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Before she attended law school, Mia played Division I field hockey at Sacred Heart University where she was the captain of her team, receiving All-Conference and NFHCA All-Academic honors. Mia continues to stay connected to the sport through coaching and playing recreationally.
After her first year of law school, Mia clerked with the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas where she drafted judicial opinions and gained experience solving different types of evidentiary issues. Following her second year, Mia was a judicial intern for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. There, she drafted orders and conducted legal research and analysis on complex appellate issues. Mia also has experience in a variety of other legal settings, including assisting the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission with matters involving police standards, certification, and misconduct, and contributing to legislative research and policy analysis at the Connecticut General Assembly.
